What we Believe
The Bible and You
The teachings of the bible have a three-fold effect:
they appeal to the mind as rational expressions of revealed truth; they effect
the emotions as touching the deeper needs of the human nature; but they also
challenge the conscience as a disclosure of what is right and wrong.
The bible condemns us - "for all have sinned and come
short of the glory of God"; but this same book cheers us with a promise of
deliverance from our sins. Jesus said of himself The Son of man came not
to be ministered unto, but to minister, and give his life a ransom for
many. He did this when he died on the cross. Again he says he that
heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Receive his word, believe in him, call upon his name:
For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved
