THE WOMENFOLK

"A virtuous woman. Her price is beyond rubies.”

Proverbs 31.10

"Endurance, foresight, strength and skill; a perfect woman, nobly planned".

Wordsworth (A Phantom of Delight)

The ideal woman is described in the book of Proverbs (31:27/8). "She looks well to her household, her children bless her and her husband praises her". She rises early and retires late. She makes clothes for the family and looks out for bargains. She also has business acumen; "She considers a field and buyeth it".

Her husband's assessment is very complimentary, "Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all". I guess she made him an excellent supper that night!

I'm not sure whether all women will be happy after reading that chapter. The lady there seems to be more than ideal, she is positively a wonder woman.
