Together for God:
India 2006
God's investment in our future
Sunday 4th June
An email from Tina:
This morning the whole team went to Pastor Jackson's church and Roger preached in the Tamil service. Everyone was feeling a little fragile.
We had lunch at the hotel with Nick, Flora and Flora's parents plus some of their neices and nephews.
Graham was unwell.
In the afternoon we went to the global day of prayer. I am not sure how many people were there but it was thousands - some thought 5000, others as many as 15000. In the end we agreed a compromise and our estimate of the numbers was LOTS!
The State Governor was there and he spoke about the importance of Prayer. A Member of Parliament, Dr. H. T. Sangliana was there and he spoke and sang a song. Police Col. Monterio was also in attendance. All the denominations were represented and the senior church fathers of the city were there.
It was a very powerful time, at one time it started to rain and they prayed from the platform for the rain to stop and it did. There is one photo that shows some of the crowd and a rainbow in the sky. It reminded me of God's promise that when the churches in Bangalore started to work together that revival would come like a flood.
Everyone went to bed but only after we had ice-cream.
Take a look at the picture gallery for some photographs taken today.
Please pray:
- For the health of the team - there have been a few upset stomaches. Also please pray for Graham as the text above from Roger specifically mentions him being unwell.
- For the team as they prepare to come home.
