Together for God:
India 2006
God's investment in our future
Saturday 27th May
We had a phonecall from Roger today:
The Pastor's conference is finished and went really well.
Last night at the gospel meeting, 2 people became Christians. The gospel meetings are smaller than Together for God teams have seen before. The reason for this is that the meetings have been arranged in conjunction with one local church rather than a whole area. The gospel meetings have been a fantastic time and the response for pray wonderful.
Today the team are visiting a large fort in Bidar, Anal led a man to Christ as the team were walking around.
Both Tina and Simon were feeling unwell today, so they stayed at the hotel to recuperate rather than visit the fort.
The temperature has been around 35 degrees. The team feel very blessed as it is usually hotter, but there have been some storms which has brought the temperature down.
The visit to Bidar Fort was fantastic, the views are incredible and the size of the place unbelieveable. It is difficult to see the scale of everything in the photos.
As Roger was walking about, a christian family came upto him and asked him to pray for them. He wasn't sure how they knew he was a Pastor - it must have been the posters around the town! Bidar is a city of 1.5 million people and they say that between 75 to 80% are christian. Many are just nominal christians.
At the gospel meeting tonight there was a lovely time of worship. Twenty people made first time committments to follow Jesus. Simon gave his testimony and Graham preached, Roger gave the appeal. There was one lady who found freedom through Christ, as her husband, also a christian looked on. It was wonderful to see her on Sunday morning full of joy, laughing with us and looking so well (photo)
Take a look at the picture gallery for the rest of the photographs taken today.
Please pray:
- For the team as they prepare to journey back to Bangalore.
- For the health of the team.
