God's investment in our future

Tuesday 2nd May

Here is information from Roger:

This morning we had breakfast at Pastor Jackson's house, Mrs Jackson has made breakfast for us each day.

Then we went off to Talitha Cumi accompanied by Fredrick's father. When we arrived the ladies were hard at work but they soon stopped to share testimonies and pray, Simon gave his testimony and the ladies were quite touched. I spoke to Mary, the lady who was married in 2004 when we took pictures of the ceremony. Her and Joseph had a baby which then died when 1 year old from stomach problems. I said that we would pray that she would conceive and that the next child would grow to maturity.

We then went to the home where the ladies live and took many pictures. It is a lovely house with good fixtures and fittings. The room are sparse but each lady has her own section in the wardrobe.

In the evening we went to an open air crusade. Roger preached and simon gave his testimony. About 130 young people responded to the appeal. Some giving their live to Christ for the first time but most making a re-commitment. There was a famous singing evangelist that followed the first appeal. He was very good. Simon got a CD of his music.

We had ice cream and then got back to the church at 10.30 pm

We later received another email regarding the crusade:

There were about 3000 people in attendance and, we got the figures wrong, about 150 - 200 young people came forward. It is very difficult to be accurate about numbers. We were originally told that there were 5-6000 but we were unsure. We are just not used to crowds of this size!

The singing evangelist holds a record in the guiness book of records for the longest session of non-stop worship. Apparently, in Tamil Nadu there was an area that was had been in Famine/drought for 200 years. The worship session began and after 11 days the record was broken and later the drought broke and the rains have come ever year since. He was a very interesting man.

Take a look at the picture gallery for some photographs taken today.

Please pray:

  1. For the ministering that Roger and Simon will be undertaking.
  2. For the health of the Roger and Simon.
  3. For the family members of Roger and Simon staying at home
