We received the following report via email on Thursday 24th June:
We went to the orphanage and there are now about 125 children staying there. The children looked very happy and well cared for. They sang us some songs and we gave them lollipops, then some of the girls took us to their dormitory – 50 girls sleep there in 3 tier bunks. The children were very excited and wanted to know our names – we found another Lydia and photos were taken of the two Lydias.
From the orphanage we were taken to Pastor Deva Asirvatham’s village church where there were lots of children. Terrie told them the story of Jesus calming the storm, complete with actions and sound effects which they really enjoyed. Graham then preached about Zacchaeus. The team then prayed for everyone in the church.
The programme for the rest of the week is:
Thu 24 June – 9.30 – 11.00 - visit to KMPC school, HAL
12.00 – lunch at Filomena’s house, followed by shopping
6.30pm – visit to Pastor Aaron’s church
Fri 25 June – 10.00am – 3.00pm Women’s Meeting at KMP church, Ulsoor
6.30pm – visit to Pastor Swaminathan’s church
Sat 26 June – visit different churches in the morning
Lunch with Annal
6.30pm – service at Pastor Gopi Daniel’s church
Sun 27 June – 9.00 am – service at KMP Church, Ulsoor
11.00 – 1.00pm – service at Pastor Deva Asirvatham’s church at Marathahalli
6.30pm – service at Sister Ruby’s church at Byappanahalli
Monday 28 June – visit Jaypaul Dass’s church and meet his family
Tuesday 29 June – travel to Kolar Gold Field for the laying of the foundations of Pastor Charles’ church
11.00pm – travel to airport to fly home
