Together for God:
India 2004
God's investment in our future
Tuesday 22nd June 2004
We received the following report via email on Thursday 24th June:
We arrived safely on the train and said our goodbyes to Al and Mary Mundy.
Pastor Jackson’s wife brought us breakfast of beef, potato, beans and cabbage, in our hotel.
We then went with Joyce Lynn and her friend Jessica to Talitha Cumi, the women's project and looked around the new garment unit where the women are being taught by a tailor to make garments such as shirts, jackets, and school uniforms. We then went to the picklemaking unit where we were able to take photos of the women being sponsored by English women. The project now accommodates 20-25 women. One of the women, Prema, has been trained in tailoring and has been able to move to her own house nearby and become self-sufficient. She still works at the project.
Roger took photos which will help Jessica put together a brochure to advertise the products the project sells. She hopes to have this ready before we leave on 30 June.
Joyce Lynn then treated us all to lunch and we enjoyed fellowship with her and Jessica.
After a short rest we were taken to a meeting at the church located at KMPC school and to our surprise it was an open air meeting. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to preach the gospel in the street and around 100 people gathered. Tina gave a short testimony, then Lydia and Roger preached gospel messages. The Team then prayed for people before being taken to a Chinese restaurant by the pastor and his sons.
Please pray:
- Please pray for the team as they minister today
- For the health of the team
