Together for God:
India 2004

God's investment in our future

Wednesday 16th June 2004

Today sees the first day of the Pastors' Conference in Gulbarga.

We had an email report from the team about today

The Pastors conference started today and we met old friends from Raichur from the mission in 2002.

They said that the churches have been working together more since the Together for God conference and that there has been much growth. A man the team visited in his home in Raichur two years ago and prayed for was miraculously healed from a crippling heart condition and he has given testimony to the healing power of God.

A Pastor in Gulbarga told us that this is the first time there has been meetings like this in the city. There are 16 churches in Gulbarga mostly Methodist and Pentecostal. Methodism has had a big impact in the region.

Graham Thomas started the Conference with the challenge of being prepared to have God open our eyes, and hearts so that as he opened the scripture we would be able to understand what he was saying and take the next step. A good start was made.

Al Mundy, part of the Indian team, spoke next and encouraged the brethren. Pastor Jackson then spoke and encouraged the pastors not to despise or look down upon those who in the world’s eyes are less important, for God does not see it that way.

Roger Pawsey was the final speaker on the day and he started with prophetic words for people, a number of whom confirmed the accuracy, one man saying, “God had heard his cry and had answered him”.

Roger spoke about a one-team dream of churches and people working together for the glory of Jesus Christ.

We felt that there had been a breakthrough this morning and that relationships have been established.

There were over one hundred pastors present many of whom live in the surrounding districts and one pastor had travelled from Bombay. These Pastors are able to stay at the conference centre and TFG pays for their accommodation and food for the duration of the conference.

Please pray for those who are preaching tomorrow Thursday 17th

9.00am Tina (UK 1.30pm)
10.15am Graham (UK 2.45pm)
11.15am Lydia (UK 3.45pm)
12.15pm Pastor Jackson (UK 4.45pm)

Please pray:

  1. For each member of the team as some or all of them will be ministering today
  2. For people to become Christians at the Gospel Meetings in Gulbarga
  3. For the Pastors to be greatly blessed through the Conference in Gulbarga
  4. For the health of the team
