God's investment in our future
Wednesday 25th July
Today sees the first scheduled event that the team will
be involved in. Some of the team may be a little nervous
about what the day will hold but we know they wouldn't miss
it for the world!
Speakers at the pastors conference today
are:
8.30-9.30 am - Vic - please pray for Vic
as he has had an upset tummy.
9.30-10.30 am - Tina - please pray for her for boldness.
10.45-11.45 am - Graham - please pray for him for boldness.
11.45-12.45 pm - Nick - please pray for him for inspiration.
The gospel meetings begin at 6.30 pm and
the two speakers are Vic and Graham. Please pray for them
that they will speak out the gospel with great boldness
and that many people will respond to their message. Pray
also for the whole team who will be praying for those who
respond after the meeting. Pray also for a real spirit of
unity and love. Local pastors are saying that they expect
10,000 to attend over the 4 nights of the gospel meetings
- hallelujah!
Today has been very hectic
being the first day of the Pastor's Conference then the
first Gospel Service. The Pastor's meeting was very good
with Vic, Nick, Graham and Tina all either preaching or
giving a testimony. The worship was very good. Paul and
Ian both had words for local pastors. God moved in a powerful
way and many people were blessed.
The first Gospel meeting
was really amazing with Vic preaching even though he was
feeling unwell. Jon gave an excellent testimony even though
he only had a few minutes notice. Graham did the final preach
before the appeal and really blessed everyone there. Pastor
Jackson made the appeal and around 200 people reponded,
some recommiting their lives to Jesus but many making a
commitment for the first time. The people here are so enthusiastic
about the Lord and so willing to listen. The team then left
the stage to pray for people who came forward. We will pray
for salvation for many of these people who responded over
the next couple of days individually - Pastor Jackson led
many through the prayer from the stage on mass.
There were many healings.
Jon prayed for a deaf lady and the first word she heard
was Jesus! Ian prayed for a man who'd had a pain in his
side for 3 years, when Ian asked the man if the pain had
gone he replied it had moved to the other side (something
that had not happened before). Jon joined Ian and they stood
either side and prayed, Jon covering the original side so
the pain had no where to go except leave - which of course
it did. Matt prayed for one man in who God mightily set
free and we saw other people being set free.
Please pray for the team
as 9 people have been suffering from upset tummy's and sickness
to varying degrees some worse than others, although none
serious - obviously this tires people out very quickly and
prayer for strength and recovery would be appreciated. Ian,
Nick, Brian, Anne and Matt haven't been ill please pray
that they don't become ill.
Prayer Requests
1] Pray for the first Gospel Meeting, that many people
will hear the word of God and become Christians.
2] Pray for the first day of the Pastors Conference and
those who will be speaking - see above.
2] Please continue to pray for all of the team.
