God's investment in our future

Monday 23rd July

Today is scheduled as a rest day for the team as they acclimatise and settle down after all the travelling. They will be preparing themselves for the Pastors Conference and Gospel Meetings that will start in a couple of days.

Well so much for a rest day - the team can't wait to get stuck and are having an outreach on the beach as they did yesterday!

Please pray for the team's beach outreach today (5.30pm -remember they are 4.5 hours ahead of us). Pray also that many people will come to the Gospel meetings and give their lives to Jesus. Please also pray for continued strength and good health for every member of the team including the two new members Mat and Beth.

This morning we thought of Roger when we went shopping to Pondicherry. The temperature was 36c - some people have been affected by the heat - please pray for them.

We had lunch at a very posh hotel but still only £2.91 per person. Then we went sightseeing and visited the Cathedral.

After a short rest we gathered for a powerful time of prayer - the hotel manager is allowing us to use the indoor garage for our prayer meetings. We then had a gospel meeting on the beach - today there were less people as it was a work day but we again began to praise the Lord and gradually a crowd gathered, particularly young children and young men. Several people shared testimonies and four people were led to Christ - praise the Lord! Richard particularly is very excited because this is the first time he has led people to the Lord since becoming a Christian.

Tomorrow we have another day to ourselves - some will go shopping again, some will be accompanying Frederick as he hands out leaflets in the town of Cuddalore, and some will be resting and preparing for the start of the pastors conference.

News on the team - we are very encouraged that team members are getting on very well together - Vic is taking a lead in giving direction to us all - Jon and Bryan are leading us well in our prayer times and the Lord is using Paul in our times of worship. Everyone is functioning well in the role they have been given.

After our experiences on the beach we are all looking forward to seeing what God will do at the larger gospel meetings - hallelujah! (from Graham). We are also looking forward to seeing Pastor Jackson who joins us Tuesday evening and to sharing at the pastors conference.

Please continue to cover us in prayer - for boldness in preaching - everyone who wants to has been given an opportunity to share at the pastors conference.

1] Please pray for all the administration and practical details for the coming Pastors Conference.

2] Please pray for the health of the team and that they will renewed for the start of the conference.

3] Pray that team will be filled with boldness when they preach.
