Together for God:
India 2000
God's investment in our future
Saturday 17th June
Today we visited
Mercy Orphanage, which is 35 kilometres away, on the outskirts
of Bangalore. There were around 40 children there just about
to eat their lunch. 20 older children were at school.
Here are 3 of the
photos we took:
- Children
queuing for lunch - this consists of ragi, a high
protein food which strengthens the children.
- 2 little
boys enjoying their lunch - we were glad we weren't
offered any!
- The
children waving goodbye to us
- The
team at the orphanage
In the picture
of the team at the orphage, the 2 elderly men are gardeners,
the ladies in green and red do all the cooking and washing,
and the lady and other man are the teachers.
This couple are
from Bangalore and have been at the orphanage since February.
They never have a day off - their family has to visit them
to see them. The lady misses her mummy. We prayed for the
staff and the children before we left.
The orphanage is
going to be relocated to a plot of land near the church
because of the poisonous snakes which come out of the lake
behind the orphanage. This will be much better for the children
because they will be able to go to school and the staff
will get to have time off.
The church will
be funding the building of the new orphanage and hope to
have something completed in 60 days. We visited this plot
of land and prayed on the site.
Prayer Requests
1] Please pray
for all the children and workers in the Orphanage.
2] Please continue
to pray for the team.
