So in Closing ... continued

Stepping out of the boat

Matthew 14:27 - 29 "But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus."

No risk assessment analysis, no scientific or psychiatric theories applied, just simple obedience.

It is important to note that Peter puts himself, either wittingly or unwittingly, in a place of faith. "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." He believed and obeyed.

If we could be certain that a word was from God, there would be no need for faith and after all it is by faith that we receive all good gifts from God

With using the prophetic gift the is a need to hear, to believe and to obey. As people take a step of faith in bringing a prophetic word, they make themselves very vulnerable. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up and share in front of the church.

It is therefore vital that leadership encourage the use of the prophecy and ensure that they personally encourage anyone using the gift.
