So in Closing ... continued

Deployment of love and honesty

Leaders must and should lead by example in things spiritual and moral. That is why and how they are leaders, and local church leaders must be examples in love and honesty. Yet every Christian should be an example of love and honesty.

Ephesians 4:15 states, "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ."

This verse is often used as an excuse for brutality and bigotry within Christian circles. People say, "Well I was only telling the truth and I loved doing it!" as they share something hurtful, critical and damaging with their unfortunate victim.

However, Romans 12:9 says, "Love must be sincere." The KJV has it "Let love be without dissimulation".

Dissimulation means to be with hypocrisy or pretence. We could therefore translate this verse, as "Let your love be true."

We should not allow or accommodate pretence or play acting in our acts or words of love and appreciation.

If we set the standards too high in local church it is probable that people will fail, however it is better to aim for the moon and miss and reach the stars, rather than never to raise our possibilities.
