Submission of the gift

It is impossible to emphasise strongly enough, how important it is for every ministry to be submitted to God and to fellow ministers and leaders within the local church. Whenever in response to the question "to whom are you accountable" a man or woman says "I am accountable to God" there is a serious and a major problem. If they are not also accountable to others with in their local church they are no more that despots and potentially tyrants. Without offending our Roman Catholic brothers, they have set themselves up as a type of unrepresentative Pope in their local church

It is equally important that the gift of prophecy is submitted. A lack of submission in the local church is a subtle type of rebellion, which the bible says is akin to witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23 )

A submitted ministry is an anointed ministry - submission cannot be demanded or institutionalised but comes out of relationship.

It is therefore important for the local church leadership to spend time with people who are seeking to use spiritual gifts and to bring a right perspective to the use of gifts and to the gift itself.

When someone comes forward to give a prophetic word and the word is rejected by either the leadership or by the people. It is not the person who is being rejected. It is the word that it being weighed
Remember - You are not your gift
