The dangers of Prophecy - dangers for gullible people

The word gullible is used here to describe those who do not weigh the prophetic but blindly accept what is said without question.

It is necessary for church leadership and the ministry gifts within the church to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

We live in an age where 'personal responsibility' is promoted very heavily in the world. Organisations have done this so as to negate or make conditional their responsibility to the individual. Unfortunately some church leaders will discover that the Kingdom of God does not work in this way. God holds local church leaders and ministry gifts accountable.

Luke 12:48 ... From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

The only way to protect people who are gullible is through education and by this we do not mean only teaching the theory of spiritual gifts but also exposing people to the gifts in action.

This should be done in the local church, under the authority of the local leadership.
