Using the Prophetic in ChurchHow to share prophecyThe attitude of the prophet should and must be one of humility. The role of the prophet is to deliver the message, however poorly but it is the task of the Holy Spirit to bring into being the purpose of God. Remember no ministry can be imposed. 1 Corinthians 14:29 "Two or three prophets should
speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said." This is not a hard and fast game of numbers but rather shows that the service should be ordered, and that prophecy should be weighed. The person submits the message to the meeting so that it may be weighed. Secondly it reveals something of the attitude of the prophet, he had the humility to submit himself and his message. I wonder how many times in a large public gathering, a bible week or such, have you seen a prophet in full flow and be stopped so that someone else who has had a revelation might speak. It is an interesting thought but I believe that it gives us an idea of what is required in the attitude of the prophet. |
