The dangers of Prophecy

There are real dangers for people and the integrity of the church where prophecy is not administrated appropriately by the leadership of the church. It is unfair to say that a truly prophetic word as received from God by the person prophesying is damaging. It is the interpretation and the administration of the giving of the prophecy that may make even a truly prophetic word harmful.

It should be recognised that we are not seeking perfection in the gifts of the Spirit before they are allowed to be used within the church. Only the bible is infallible, rather in the life of the church we are seeking something that is healthy and beneficial to the church that glorifies Jesus Christ and enables the growth and growing up of the church.
