A Youth Report

A somewhat uncomplimentary report was made some time ago on the Youth of Britain. It was called 'SPOILED BRATS', and a newspaper summed it up by commenting;‑ "Your son is 15. He lost his virginity two years ago. He swills CarIsberg special brew and sits in front of the TV watching Eastenders. His sister is much the same. Both cherish ambitions to earn pots of money, and neither care much about the environment, poverty or the family".

The report was compiled after an eighteen‑month research project by a leading Advertising agency. It went on to say that "These youngsters will be the most materialist and wealthy generation in Britain's history. They will be surrounded by luxuries that most adults could only previously hope for in their thirties. Over half of those interviewed thought that the right attitude to life was "to look after number one". Divorce and broken homes have made many of them hardhearted and bitter.
