Weekend
Conferences
After attending several
weekends organised by other churches, God challenged us as a group of women in
September 1995 to run a weekend organised by ourselves.
The challenge was, "What
do you want the women's ministry to be like in 3 years' time and what are you
going to do in the next 12 months to get there?"
The first Women for the
Kingdom Weekend was born in May 1996.
The venue for weekends
one - five was Letton Hall, a Christian
Conference Centre in Norfolk. During this time attendance at the weekends grew
from 55 to 70 women.
It was as we were
preparing for the fifth weekend that God gave us a prophetic word for the sixth
weekend: "Behold, I am going to do a new thing." We felt God was telling
us it was time to move to a larger venue and extend our boundaries,
particularly as we'd begun to feel we'd outgrown Letton Hall. We believed it
was time to move out of what we'd become familiar with and move into the new
thing God was preparing for us.
So in faith we booked
St. Gabriel's Centre in Ditchingham,
Suffolk for our sixth weekend and in faith we believed for 100 women to book
in. God honoured that step of faith - we had 104 women in attendance. Please
take some time to browse through what happened at each of the weekends listed
below, and at how God has poured out his blessing as we've gathered together
each year.
