About the project

ARCHIVE please see new TFG site

In August 1999 India declared a population of one billion - 60% are women and of these it is estimated that 65% suffer from poverty, ill-health, exploitation, abandonment, homelessness.

Talitha Cumi is a project for such destitute women, birthed by Joyce Lynn Peters as a result of a God-given burden. Joyce Lynn believes that if we join hands, "together we can change the world, one woman at a time."

Talitha Cumi currently hosts 15 women in three homes and is located in Bangalore, which is the capital city of Karnataka, in Southern India.

The project is a rehabilitation programme providing:

  • housing
  • three meals a day
  • love, care and hospitality
  • training to empower the women to become self-sufficient
