God's investment in our future

Friday 5th May

Here is information from Roger:

It is 7.45 am here (3.15 there) We are about to set off for Kolar Gold Fields to visit The Silk Worm Farm. We will also go to see Pastor Yesupatham and Pastor Charles. We hope to get some good pictures. This is a long journey so please pray for our safety travelling, our health and strength. The heat and tiredness do take their toll.

We had an early start today 8.30am and stopped on the way to Kolar Gold Fields for breakfast.

We then went to Pastor Louis Paul and visited his church 'Fire Tabernacle church' where there was a prayer meeting, Claudia sang in Tamil, Simon gave his Testimony and Roger gave a word. The building is very small and people were packed in. There is room to enlarge the building.

Then we went to Pastor Yesupatham's church. The church had been damaged by an underground explosion from an old mine shaft from the Gold mining times. The building is cracked from top to bottom and the floor is terribly cracked. The Pastor was not there but his mother showed us around. They have a very large piece of ground with the space to do something special.

We then went to Pastor Charles' church 'Grace Full Gospel Church'. This is where Graham and Roger laid the foundation stone in 2004. Now there is a fine church just two months away from completion. As you can see from the photographs the church is very large. Claudia sang a song in Latin and the acoustics in the building are incredible. Pastor Charles' family gave us lunch and then we made a video presentation of how the church came into being. The builder of the church came and it was good to meet him. This is the 9th church he has built since becoming a Christian. They are such a lovely family we were sad to leave them, but we had to continue so we prayed for them and the church and left.

We then got to the Silk worm farm where we saw the baby worms feeding on Mulberry leaves. We then took an impromptu service under a mango tree. Simon and Claudia shared their testimonies (the first time for Claudia in India) and Roger brought a word. The women who work there were very touched. There are about 25 people employed full time by the project and about 80 in the harvest time. When the land was bought it was barren and nothing would grow. The well had gone dry. The people prayed over the land and started work. They drilled for water they went down 550 feet but nothing Baskar the director said that he was ready to cry. But they prayed and carried on and within ten minutes of praying water gushed up. God had healed the land. Now these fields are the greenest and most fruitful in the area. Praise God.

We left and went to the prayer meeting where we sang some songs and Roger brought a word of encouragement. We arrived back at the church at 8.30 pm a very long day.
Evening Prayer

Please pray for us for health and for tomorrow  - we go to visit Rajakumar and in the evening may be called upon to preach at a youth meeting.

The same photographs are in the picture gallery.

Please pray:

  1. For the ministering that Roger and Simon will be undertaking.
  2. For the health of the Roger and Simon.
  3. For the family members of Roger and Simon staying at home
