Prayer and Prophecy

Intercessory prayer pattern

The following is a pattern used by our church intercessors to enable them to make a start in this essential ministry.

TEAM MEETINGS
The team will meet at 7:30pm for 8:00pm; members of the team will be expected to be prompt. Leader will share any prayer requests before meeting starts.

  1. Examine ourselves making sure we are right with God and ask for forgiveness. While doing this focus and prayerfully consider scripture e.g.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

    Psalm 51

or / and play a worship song.
  2. Acknowledge we need direction from Holy Spirit and ask God to direct meeting.
  3. Lay down our personal agendas; recognise God is in control of meeting and that we need to be humble during meeting.
  4. Pray for protection over meeting, all members at meeting, those who are unable to attend meeting and families.
  5. Ask for boldness and willingness to share what God has given us, even if think small or insignificant or unsure. It could be very important.
  6. Praise God in faith for the excellent prayer meeting we are going to have.
  7. Wait in silence (about 20 minutes), then share what God has said to you. Then pray through each prophetic word He has given to you.
  8. God may give a scripture, a word of knowledge, or a picture with an interpretation, a spiritual song or a spiritual dance. We must not limit God to how he speaks to us.
  9. Finish the meeting praising God, thanking God for His presence and for what he will do.

All items which are prayed for, and answers to them, will be recorded in a book as a guide to the team and to the leadership.
