The Nature of Prophecy ...continuedExamples of Prophecy and their problemsBy William Kay (used with permission) ANSWER 7 7. A man member of the congregation stands up one morning and says that he sees a flower growing and nearby is a horse trying to jump a fence. The horse keeps on approaching the fence and eventually treads on the flower. He does not know what the vision means. We could have something here which is completely irrelevant or something, which is very meaningful. Your own situation may or may not fit the elements of the vision. Someone in the congregation may interpret the vision. You need to pray and then not worry .You would be foolish to begin to look for horses in the Bible (the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem or the white horse in the Rev 19.11f) and then flowers in the Bible (the lilies of the field) and attempt to work out a meaning for the vision by exegetical methods. |
