Refreshment Day - 6 March
2004
The vision behind these Refreshment Days
is to help women to be completely refreshed, by creating an environment where
they can be fed both spiritually and physically. We also realised that
fellowship with one another contributes to a feeling of refreshment, so it was
with some excitement that we arrived for the first of our Refreshment Days at
Watton Pentecostal Church. We were expecting great things.
Over 70 women from 22 different
churches and eight different denominations from around East Anglia gathered
together to enjoy worship and ministry, fellowship and a buffet lunch.
The guest speaker for the day was
Mrs Lynwen Hicks from Wellingborough, who heads up the Women's Ministry
Department for the Assemblies of God in the Eastern Region.
Lynwen inspired us with her bible
teaching and warm sense of humour. We were encouraged to allow God to
re-envision our lives, and to realise our full potential as Christian women in
today's world. |

It was a most enjoyable occasion,
and was a good opportunity to meet together with old friends, as well as making
new ones. Everyone was given a bookmark as a reminder of the day, and went home
feeling thoroughly refreshed! |
All in all it was a team initiative, as
the women from Watton Pentecostal Church had worked very hard to make the day
possible, in spite of the church being in the middle of an extensive building
refurbishment programme.
Following such a success, we're now
looking forward to the next Refreshment Day which will be held on Saturday 5
June, when the guest speaker will be Beverly Molineaux, from Downham Market.
