The Doctinal Effect - The Doctrinal Dangers

"Doctrine without duty is a tree without fruits, duty without doctrine is a tree without roots." Talbot W. Chambers (5)

There is a danger of separating what we believe and our application of what we believe. In effect what we do about what we believe is as important as what we believe.

What we believe about spiritual gifts including prophecy will have an impact on every other belief we hold. It will affect our relationship with God and our relationship with others.

Does the church that says it believes in the spiritual gift of prophecy and not allow the operation of the gift really believe?

Does the church that allows spiritual gifts without the doctrinal guidance of leadership in encouragement and correction really believe?

Therefore, it is not only what we believe, but also, more importantly, what we do because we believe that removes the danger.
