Guideline 10
* Find out whether an applicant has any conviction for
criminal offences against children.
Church response:
All situations which involve
work with children and young people are exempt from the Rehabilitation of
Offenders Act 1974. This means that all convictions which relate to children
and young people, however old, must be declared. Information about other
convictions must also be given, as these may be relevant to the suitability of
the person.
